He is Able To Do Exceedingly.

By A. Abeku Haywood-Dadzie

Key Verse: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, # Ephesians 3:20

The book of 2 kings 6 verse 24-30, published a gore picture of famine stricken Israel. The economy was so bad, food prices has skyrocketed astronomically to the extent that a donkey’s head was sold for eight silver corns and a unit of dove’s dung cost five silver corns

One day “While the king of Israel was walking along the city wall, a woman cried out to him; help me your majesty! She said. The King replied If the Lord do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? Out of the barn floor, or out of the winepress. [2Kings 6v26-27]’

What the king said is in line with the conclusion David came to in Psalm 127 v 1 that “Except the LORD builds the house, they labour in vain that build it …..

God has proven time and time again that He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think of. In 2 kings 3 v 17-18,the Lord said” Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts .And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD.

God is able to supply all our needs and He proved it again in 2 kings 7v1” Tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.”

Worrying about our problems can be our biggest problem. However we don’t need to devote sleepless night worrying about our problems. Let’s pray about it and trust that the lord is working it out.
