Load Balancing implementation in networks

Organizations nowadays have to process huge amounts of data. With the advent of digital age, all data has been digitalized and is being sent over the internet. Organizations dealing with such a complex and enormous amount of data have to be ready to deal with it. Cyber criminals are on the loose who utilize DDoS attacks to wreak havoc on servers, tearing them apart and stealing valuable private data.

The answer to all these problems is a simple methodology called Load Balancing. The term Load Balancing means to reallocate data to all network resources in such a way that it is evenly distributed and each of the resource gets to process data. With the implementation of Load Balancing, servers become faster and visitor queries are resolved quicker. The network capability to handle requests also increases. With Load Balancing in place, the network is able to make the most out of its resources and hence become precise and efficient, giving better output in lesser time with same hardware and software resources.

Load Balancing onto servers can be done in a variety of ways. The DNS is used to redirect visitor requests towards another server. This methodology needs the addition of another server. This server is responsible for calculating and allotting queries to different parts of server. More than a few servers are necessary so that Load Balancing works at its peak potential. The Load Balancing servers are paired with failsafe and backup servers so that the operations continue even when a server fails to process tasks. Server’s physical location is of little retrospect but their task remains unchanged, which is to process data effectively and make sure that the entire server functions well.

DDoS assaults work by overloading a server with more data than its bandwidth allocation which crashes them. Sometimes crashes are caused by genuine reasons, such as a famous event being broadcasted. There are 2 options left to organizations to tackle such problems: to implement new, heavier servers which will take huge amounts of money and time to get functional or to implement Load Balancing onto existing servers which will ensure they improve their present servers and takes little money. Investing in some equipment and dedicated server to process Load Balancing is a simple answer to solve such problems and reduce hurdles in organizations operations.

Load Balancing isn’t just a theory but is verified method with hard results which show its effective nature. It can be implemented on present hardware and software, which makes it versatile and capable of being up to task and scaling up as per requirements. Load Balancing works in the same way as multithreading, in which same processors work to execute tasks better and it appears that there are more physical servers than implemented.
