The plastic dissipation SJB2-043 curves when the impacting mass is 14 tons for the welded tube and the tube without weld are shown in Fig. 15. The plastic dissipation energy for the tube without weld is about 6.2% lower compared to the welded tube. Accordingly, it is 4.1% lower under 12 tons and 3.3% lower under 6 tons.

The simulation results indicate that the longitudinal weld does not influence a noticeable adverse effect on the shock absorber operation, the tube deforms smoothly similarly to the tube without weld and can withstand similar loads.
