1 of the most essential survival tips I can provide you in any survival scenario is to "Think FIRST"
Usually what occurs to a individual when they are place into a situation that they rarely find themselves in...is that they panic. When time is of the essence, panic is not an option. So how do we get to the point of becoming in a position to not panic when placed in a life or death scenario or some type of survival scenario?
The answer is to become knowledgeable about initial help and survival methods.
These go hand in hand really. In most cases when somebody has been placed in a survival scenario (other than simply becoming lost) they have gotten to that place because of some event that was generally beyond their control. I am speaking of a car accident or a slip on a rock face or something similar.
In most instances initial aid response in necessary as the first choice of priorities.
how to survive
The very best defense is to have a great offense. With that said...(Here is another survival tip)...What if you had been prepared beforehand by taking a first aid class of some sort. Or study a initial aid handbook and had a least the fundamentals of what it requires to maintain yourself or someone else alive?
If that were true your thoughts would nearly automatically shift into that mode and you would not have time to panic.
You would nearly instinctively go straight into the first aid mode and start the essential checks of yourself or your patient. Checking the airway (breathing) and heart beat (Pulse) to check for proper function. Then you would do a check for consciousness and shock, and do this almost automatically without panic.
