RELAX, wind down and light a scented candle as Stratford-upon-Avon

College prepares to rid you of the stresses and strains of everyday

life.

The college is currently developing a comprehensive range of

therapy courses in recognition of the increasing focus on holistic and

complementary medicine.

Funded by the Learning and Skills Council Coventry and

Warwickshire, courses on offer in September include aromatherapy,

reflexology, thermal- auricular therapy, Indian head massage and Swedish

massage.

Courses run at the Tranquillity Suite will range from part-time

classes to full-time certificates and diplomas.

Bridget Hunt, holistic therapies co-ordinator at Stratford College,

said: "Our holistic training suite has been built to a high

specification and will emulate the real working environment to ensure

quality training and a rewarding learning experience across all

programmes.

"We have acknowledged the rapid increase in demand for

holistic therapy training opportunities across areas of healthcare and

aspects of the service industry and of corporate business, and have now

done something about it.

"We have a new and exciting holistic and complementary

therapies division and we are delighted to be able to offer such a wide

range of courses to the local community.

"We aim to support, develop and provide highly professional

therapists to local healthcare provisions, industry and

enterprise."

Courses soon starting include an NVQ level 3 holistic therapies

diploma, enabling students to acquire knowledge and skills in a variety

of treatments.

And there will soon be a chance for local people to try the

therapies out fort themselves.

From next month, treatments from the developing professional

therapists will be available to the public for a nominal fee.

The range of treatments at Stratford-Upon-Avon College will be on

offer at various times throughout the week including both evenings and

weekends.
