In this report, graphene oxide (GO) modified pencil graphite electrodes (PGEs) were designed for the purpose of specific recognition of miRNA-34a, which was related to Alzheimer disease [40] and [41] and different types of cancer [42] and [43]. The hybrid occured between miRNA-34a complementary DNA probe and miRNA-34a RNA target was immobilized onto the segregation surface of GO-PGE. After each modification / immobilization step, the changes at the charge transfer resistance (Rct) values was recorded by using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique, which could provide impedance changes before and after biorecognition process at the electrode surface [44] and [45].
