Guys, be sincere: Do you wish you were bigger? Nearly certainly, the answer is yes.

"I think there is not a man on the planet who hasn't wished his penis had been an inch or two longer," says Michael O'Leary, MD, professor of urologic surgical procedure at Harvard Medical College along with a urologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.

Nevertheless, following more than the usual century of usually dubious and sometimes lunatic penis enlargement attempts, there is nonetheless not much you can do. Certain, there are lots and lots of intended choices out there -- penis pills, lotions, brutal stretching exercises, horrific-looking devices, and penis surgery. Almost none of it works. The few methods that may work often have modest benefits and severe side results. How serious? In a few cases, erectile dysfunction-serious.

"Trust me, if I knew of the method to securely and effectively increase penis size, I'd be considered a billionaire," O'Leary tells WebMD. "But I don't. Nobody does."

Still, common feeling doesn't stop size-obsessed guys from attempting very sketchy treatments on the important part of their anatomy -- and risking a lot in the process.

How Little Is a Small penis?
Believe you're smaller sized than typical? You're most likely not.

The typical erect penis is usually 5 to 6 inches long with a circumference of 4 to 5 inches. There is more variation within the dimension of flaccid penises.

Some men are genuinely smaller than that. In uncommon instances, genetics and hormone issues cause a situation known as micropenis -- an erect penis of below three inches. Sometimes Peyronie's illness or prostate most cancers surgery can reduce a guy's size.

But research show that most of the men seeking penis enlargement are average-sized. They just think they're below typical.

Why? Part of it's viewpoint. It is very difficult to gauge the dimensions of your personal penis -- searching down, you've got a nasty angle.

Psychology performs a task, too. Some average-sized guys become obsessed with the idea that they're as well little. There's even a psychiatric diagnosis: penile dysmorphic condition. It is similar to the perceptual distortion of anorexics who think they are fat no matter how thin they get.

According to 1 research, the majority of men who get penis enlargement surgery have this situation. They're also the minimum happy with the results.
