Orange County Schools Local National Parent Advisory Board
Orange County Schools have taken an active part in the devel-oping quality programs for all their people in their diverse student population. One program that has been developed is aimed at assisting student performance and improving educational opportunities for students of Native American history. To be able to better accomplish these goals the Orange County Schools Indigenous American Parent Advisory Committee is made. The elected positions of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Teacher Representative, and Student Representative are elected at the beginning of each school year and a nominated by parents of Orange County Schools. The jobs currently are Chris Eslick Manager, Name VII-Native American Pro-gram and Oryden Gould, Title VII Community Liaison/Secretary, who is of Cherokee good. This program is intended to support Indigenous American students in attaining large marks in reading, language arts, and mathematics. It fulfills this goal: by providing services in aiding Native American students to meet Orange County Schools effectiveness standards; by ensuring that Native American students partake in their school's Federal, State and local plans as considered necessary; by providing recruitment activities and family liaison services to meet the culturally related educational needs of Native American students; and by providing professional development opportunities to ensure that staff are properly educated and ready to do use Native American students.
Ancient National Parent Advisory Committees Senior Reputation Night
Every year the Indigenous American Parent Advisory Committee understands graduating seniors from Orange County Schools. The event includes donations, speakers, products, community support and an Indigenous American dance exhibition. A brand new sponsor for this years program may be the L.A. Dodgers baseball team. Orange County Schools actively encourage reference to the Native American community. There are several opportunities for all those interested in the Indigenous American community in the region.
