Among the detected TPs, S-1 and S5 showed the higher LC-MS signal. Fig. 4 presents the TPs reaction zvadfmk along a 60 min reaction. TPs are rapidly formed, and only a slight decay of S-5 is observed during the first 60 min of reaction. At a very long contact time (24 h), only the simplest product, S-7, remained in the sample. The reaction route of salbutamol with KMnO4 contrast with free chlorine, as basically simpler halogenated TPs are formed in such case (Quintana et al., 2012), as reproduced in Fig S7.
