In ultrapure water, TPs are formed slowly, reaching their maximum after 72 h, while in wastewaters the formation of TPs was faster. TPs in wastewater were formed immediately after the commencement of the experiment and their concentrations kept increasing until 52 h of solar irradiation, followed by a decline in their concentrations indicating their gradual removal through photolysis. The concentrations remaining at the end of the experiment, however, were still significant.
