Many authors had investigated the effect of magnetic field on the diffusion behavior of Mg–Al and Zn–Al couples and the results also indicated that the reduced or increased diffusion has great relation with frequency factor but not through the change in activation energy [7], [8] and [9]. However, no widely accepted theory has been established for the influence of magnetic field on the GNE-617 diffusion behavior. And a theory developed by Youdelis and Dorward shows that the diffusivity in a magnetic field is reduced by the factor 1/(1 + ωce2/υe2), where ωce and υe are the cyclotron and collision frequencies respectively of the diffusion transported electrons [16].
