After 5000 cycles, the specific capacitance of G/NiO-200 is still as high as 490 F g−1, implying a capacitance retention of 92%. G/NiO-100, G/NiO-150 and G/NiO-250 also show good capacitance retentions (∼90%). It was deemed that the globule-on-sheet structure of G/NiO composite can prevent the aggregation of NiO nanoparticles and the restacking of graphene nanosheets, and thus keep the redox reaction of NiO is highly reversible.
