When temperature falls below the WAT, wax TOK-001 precipitate out, and when sufficient amount of wax crystals is precipitated, a sponge-like structure is formed with dispersed droplets entrapped in it, and parts of solid wax crystals may also adsorb on the surface of the droplets (Visintin et al., 2008, Paso et al., 2009 and Oh and Deo, 2011). For an emulsion gel, the applied stress is shared by both the wax crystal structure and the water droplets. Therefore the yield stress of an emulsion gel is higher than hydrostatic skeleton of the crude oil, and the yield stress increases with increasing water cut as the number of droplets increases (Sun et al., 2014).
