FlowJo, LLC is growing and looking for a software QA tester to join our team. The QA tester works with engineering and field scientist teams to develop and to support software for life science analysis, and reports directly to the Engineering Project Manager. We are looking for applicants passionate about science and helping researchers around the world streamline their single cell data analysis and who would like to join a dynamic team of scientists and engineers who direct and support our product development efforts. Develop & execute test plans across multiple subsystems within our applications, and collaborate in testing requirements definition.
Understand how our applications operate, are structured, and how customers use them.
Provide engineering support (when necessary) to our technical support staff when they are building, deploying, configuring and supporting systems for customers.
Participate with the engineering teams to develop automated testing plans and to define testing criteria.
Write detailed documentation of testing process, defects and areas for improvement, and user-facing application documentation.
Other duties from time to time as determined by management.
Flexible both in job role and problem solving
High level of organizational skills and extreme diligence
Keen interest in technology and its application to specific research trends
Familiarity with Windows, OSX and Linux environments
Great communication and analytical skills, including the ability to discuss technical issues patiently and comfortably with users at all levels
Impeccable organizational and writing skills
Experience in testing software
1+ years Strong understanding of core Java (generics, multithreading, collections, event-driven architecture)
Experience with issue tracking systems (Trac)
Automated, Ad Hoc and unit testing experience
