4. Results and discussion
4.1. Model validation
The developed 3-D model C 021 validated against the experimental results of Li et al. [24]. The inlet and combustor lengths for the experimental setup are 7 mm and 20 mm, respectively. The step size and the wall thickness are both 0.5 mm. The expansion ratio of 4 was used by the gynoecium investigators which governs the step size of the combustor. In the experimental study of Li et al., the authors present both experimental results, which includes the outer wall and the exit temperatures, as well as 2-D axi-symmetric numerical simulations.
