Predicted aviation attributable concentrations for BC

PM2.5 concentrations predicted by AERMOD were divided by 2 to represent aviation-attributable BC emissions for comparison with regression model values based on speciated emission inventories from recent publications using EDMS for air quality modeling. We averaged EPA\'s NEI-based emissions, which had 77.1% of PM2.5 as BC, while AEDT-based emissions in Wilkerson et al. (2010) had 35% of PM2.5 as BC for the 99 airports in the US with greatest fuel burn (Arunachalam et al., 2011 and Woody et al., 2011).
