It didnt take long for Albert Haynesworth to find a new home.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed the defensive tackle off waivers after he was released by the New England Patriots. Profootballtalk.com reports that Haynesworth is a surprising acquisition by the Bucs, seeing as how coach Raheem Morris talked about having a young and hungry defense.
Haynesworth is just the opposite, as the former pro-bowler is a bit past his prime and contributed very little to the New England defense, hence his release by them. Still, the Bucs could find a way to utilize Haynesworth to his strengths and add to their defensive line. They have been very mediocre this year at 4-4 and are third in their division, making them a longshot to make the playoffs. Haynesworth wont exactly lead them to the postseason, but he could help shore up this defense.
Also, it should be worth noting that the Bucs just lost Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy for the season with a biceps injury, so it does make sense for them to add Albert Haynesworth as a replacement. However, whether or not he is a longterm or short-term replacement is yet to be seen. Still, Haynesworth has to be ecstatic that he has found another team so soon after his release.
