Federal government makes air travel with oxygen easier.

The goal for any respiratory patient being discharged to theirprivate residence is to resume a lifestyle as close to normal aspossible. This includes those being discharged onto home oxygen therapy.For many years even getting out into the community was a challenge forthese individuals. Smaller and lighter ambulatory oxygen systemsutilizing either compressed or liquid oxygen evolved, however, whichallowed the ambulatory home oxygen patient access to their community. Upuntil July 2005 however, the ability to travel by air was plagued withmany hurdles making air travel an extremely difficult and frustrating experience.

Expenses occurred for oxygen therapy while traveling are not reim
