What Is Valerian?
Valerian is an herb that has been used in traditional medicine for years that's largely used to take care of ailments like anxiety, stress, moderate muscle and additionally, it helps to encourage a better nights sleep. The medicine is produced from the root of the plant.
I started drinking Valerian tea before bed because it tends to get worse sometimes during the night, to assist with my nervousness, so if I'm feeling especially distressed or nervous I'll have a cup.
Adults: One sachet one hour before retiring. Not suggested for kids.
There's a warning on this tea which is:
Warning: Can cause drowsiness. If affected, don't drive or use machines.
This tea has an identical effect as valium, so I constantly have this tea a day or two in a row before I fly to help with my anxiety that is flying. Thankfully I do not drive so I'm able to have this before the airport without worrying about becoming too drowsy to drive.
What Does It Taste Like?
First thing, I'm not going to lie about the odor. I couldn't believe it stank of feet when I smelt a valerian tea bag for the initial time! When you presume it's going to smell pleasant but in fact it makes you PHWOAR because the flavor is nothing like the scent thank god, it can be a real put off, but hang in there.
If you can not hack the flavor attempt and put a teaspoon of honey into it and try and wean yourself off the honey, valerian tea tastes nice compared to it's stench.
