What Is Valerian?
Valerian is an herb that has been utilized in traditional medicine for years that's largely used to treat illnesses such as anxiety, stress, light muscle/joint pain and additionally, it helps to encourage a better nighttime sleep. The medicine is produced of the root of the plant.
I started drinking Valerian tea before bed because it will get worse sometimes during the night, to help with my anxiety, so if I'm feeling especially stressed or nervous I'll have a cup.
Adults: One sachet one hour before going to bed. Not advocated for kids.
There's a warning on this tea which is:
Warning: Don't drive or operate machinery if affected. Avoid alcoholic drinks.
This tea has an identical effect as valium, so I always have this tea a day or two in a row before I fly to assist with my flying stress.
What Exactly Does It Taste Like?
First thing, I'm not going to lie about the odor. I could not believe how much it stank of feet, when I smelt a valerian tea bag for the very first time! When you think it is going to smell nice but in fact it makes you PHWOAR because the taste is nothing like the scent thank god it can be a real put off, but hang in there.
Valerian tea tastes pleasant compared to it's stench, in case you can not hack the taste try and place a teaspoon of honey into it and then try and wean yourself off the honey.
