Flooring for Foyer (foyer is bordered by 3 different types of flooring)--what to do?
I am redoing my foyer, which is about 10 feet by 12 feet in size). It borders three rooms, all with different flooring: the kitchen (which has an amber colored stone tile), the living room (which has typical oak flooring), and the den (which has a neutral colored, low-pile, wall-to-wall carpet). I would love to put in hardwood--like a 4 inch wide medium dark wood--but then I think it will clash with the bordering oak? Can I pull it off? Or what else could I use that will look good with the other types of flooring it will touch? I'd really appreciate any ideas. I am worried that there is no good solution--that I just have too many types to tie togther. Thanks.
