What is the best varnish or other wood finish for interior use, cabinets, floors?
One person told me that polyurethane was the best wood finish in the world. Then I read that polyurethane doesn't adhere well to wood, doesn't adhere well to itself so multiple coats don't work well, doesn't adhere to anything, has a natural color which is a cold blue-gray and doesn't get the warm yellowing with age characteristic of traditional varnishes, can't be repaired if damaged (you need to sand it off and start over). But it repels water and alcohol just great. Who is right?
