Family of 5 dead after SUV goes into suburban Phoenix lake

Augusta, GA-Making smiles brighterone local dentist is served the CSRA on Friday by providing free dental care. This is the first year Dr. Jonathan Bullard, his staff, and volunteers gathered to participate in Dentistry from the Heart.

Its a service that many people take for granted.

While some may see a dentist visit as a chore, the dozens of people that lined up outside Bullard Dental on Friday are grateful to get the chance to step in the office.

People need dental care and a lot of times that can mean an aesthetic issue, which is a lot of times what people think about, there are also health issues, people who have dental infections and those types of things, so its just good to get them in, said Dr. Jonathan Bullard, owner of Bullard Dental Care.

Bullard said hes wanted to take part in Dentistry from the Heart for years, and is excited the day has finally come.

More than 40 volunteers and six dentists packed the office to offer free services.

Families and friends waited for their turn including Blanche Hood, who took her daughter to be seen.

She aged out of our insurance and so this is really a good help for the community for those that dont have insurance and cant get good dental care, said Hood.

A lot of work is put into an event like this, the staff prepped for more than three months with the anticipation of seeing 100 patients, but everyone says the cause is worth it.

The team is ready to serve until the job is done giving as many people as they can a reason to smile.

I think its really great what they are doing, I really do, and I hope they get to do it more, said

Hood.

Bullard said he plans on doing this next year and hopes his office can serve more people in the future.
