The DTA–TG results of the commercial powder mixture during heating and cooling to obtain the Ass-phase are shown in Fig. 5. During heating, six BYL-719 peaks of around 454°, 649°, 1182°, 1370°, 1397° and 1411 °C were observed. During cooling, only one exothermal peak at 1391 °C was noted on the DTA curve.

Fig. 6 shows the XRD diffraction pattern of the sample obtained from (A) pre-synthesised powders and (B) commercial powders after heating at 1550 °C for 3 h and quenching in liquid nitrogen, milling, pressing, and reheating at 1300 °C/3 h with a vasopressin subsequent annealing step at 1200 °C for 24 h.
