Locksmiths - Miami-Dade County

All locksmith companies and individual locksmiths who provide services to the public must be licensed by theDepartment of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER). The department conducts a criminal background check of applicants before granting a license.

Licensees must comply with all requirements of the Locksmith Ordinance.

The Locksmith Ordinance defines a locksmith as any person who installs, repairs, rebuilds, rekeys, repins, recodes, services, adjusts, opens or modifies locks, mechanical and electronic security locking devices and peripherals, safes, vaults, safe deposit boxes, and closed circuit television systems.
