Having lived within the Western United States my whole life, I've discovered the instance of the European traveler to be quite informative. Chicago imagine it or not has good beaches, skyscrapers and is probably essentially the most balanced and finest city in the USA. San Francisco looks book good on a postcard, but in actuality it's cold, damp, windy, filthy, costly with far too many homeless people assaulting vacationers. Planning next journey to Miami and DC. I am from Chicago and want to see my metropolis in listing.
A gambleville with luxury resorts and five star inns, outstanding eating and acclaimed reveals, exclusive spas and world-class golf programs - it's important to party in Vegas no less than as soon as in a lifetime. Las Vegas' proximity to distinctive treasures of nature resembling Crimson Rock and Grand Canyon, Colorado River and Loss of life Valley makes Sin City enticing travel destination not just for party goers however for nature lovers as properly. When in San Francisco, take a trip to Napa Valley for a glass of wine or two whereas enjoying breathtaking scenery of a wine country. However my good friend Chicago is one other wonderful metropolis with great skyline and beautiful lake front views.
By the way, I'm from Chicago and I agree with people who have said it belongs on this checklist. Las Vegas is okay for a 2 day journey, however when I consider must go to cities this calls up photos of cities with not less than a weeks value of art, tradition, and websites to expertise, which Vegas doesn't supply. It it the perfect instance on the earth of recent architecture (1860's-present), and sure is superior to NYC on this side. The nightlife is superb and HIYA-it simply does NOT get higher than Chicago summer!!!
The seashores in Florida totally blow away the west Coast, the water is so rough ya cant even swim, the seashores are run down with no nice inns and the sand and water are nasty! I have been to a good number of these cities and I have to say that for the most half I agree with it. However, I might put Chicago over Orlando. I've but to go to San Francisco, I hear it is completely beautiful and really walkable.
There are just a few cities which might be overlooked that 'have' to be added: New Orleans, Philadephia and Chicago. I went to medical school in New Orleans which makes me biased but I'd virtually place that with the top tier of three cited above because of it is unique character, history, culture, music-scene. In contrast to Charleston and Savannah which are also cultural/visible southern gems, New Orleans is a bigger more vital city (although decreased somewhat by the Katrina). In looking at suejanet's remark, I'd commerce out Orlando for Chicago, or New Orleans. San Diego is good, but definitely not a prime ten desitnation in my ebook, take that off.
