"The idea of liposuction may sound like a lot but this is actually a relatively minimally invasive procedure that can typically be done in-office with local anesthetic alone. A small incision is made under the chin and often behind each ear as well to insert a small metal cannula that the fat is then suctioned through. Fine sutures are used to close incisions and the scars fade to fine lines difficult for anyone to see. Though mild, bruising and swelling are typical and resolve within 1-2 weeks following submental liposuction. Patients are then left with improved jaw line contour and definition."
