It is not uncommon to lose track of why you wanted to lose weight in the first place. Most of the time, your weight loss goals begin with a bang, but as time goes on, you will notice your motivation wane. How can you have some of the passion and persistence that others seem to have rub off on you? How are these people able to obtain and keep success? Before you do anything else, decide on some realistic weight loss goals. Do you want to lose a lot of weight, or do you just want to be able to fit into some clothes that have been too tight for some time? Is it that you want to be healthier and feel fitter? Giving yourself concrete goals gives you something to strive for. Keep a record of your progress. Write things down, such as caloric intake, foods you ingest and beverages you choose. Be sure to weigh yourself weekly and create a journal. In the journal, write down the foods you eat each day. You will be more aware of what you are eating since you will be keeping track of it, and this will lead to you making better food selections. When you are hungry you make bad choices. Keep some healthy snacks around in case you get famished. This will help to prevent you from making unhealthy decisions, such as going next through the drive-thru at a fast food restaurant. Plan to eat healthy by packing a nutritious lunch. Not only will you be saving calories, but also youll save money. In order for weight loss regimes to be successful, they must contain ways to eat healthy and exercise effectively. Set aside time for your workouts, and plan them into your schedule to help ensure that you have plenty of time for exercise. Exercise does not have to be in the gym or structured activities. In fact, social or family activities can provide just as much health benefit as structured exercise. Consider taking a stroll, going for a bike ride with friends, or even playing schoolyard games with your kids. Any of these forms of exercise will get your heart pumping, and you will soon be on the way to better health. If you want to avoid the junk food, simply dont make it available. You could hide your junk food, but you would probably be better of not buying it at all. You are more likely to eat healthy foods if you are surrounded by them. When you have weight loss as your goal, enlist the help of family and friends. It is important to have someone that motivates you to lose weight. When youre seeking an extra source of motivation, look towards your friends for moral support.
