The state of Maryland’s House of Representatives and senators have approved House Bill 235 which would allow Tesla to sell electric vehicles directly to consumers. Maryland governor, Larry Hogan could pass the bill as early as April 28th. Assuming the bill passes, Maryland would become the 23rd state to legalize direct Tesla sales to customers. There is a catch to the bill. There can only be four Tesla dealers in the state and they would only be allowed to sell zero-emissions vehicles. The battle for direct Tesla sales is still ongoing in other states. West Virginia just turned down a chance to legalize Tesla direct sales and Georgia only just legalized direct sales becoming the 22nd state to do so.
