Chadian Boko Haram suspects nabbed in Gombe
THREE Chadian nationals suspected to be Boko Haram members are under investigation following their arrest in
Gombe State on Sunday.
Nigerian Army troops in conjunction with members of the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested the suspects
named as Bilal Muhammed Umar, Bashir Muhammed and Muhammed Maigari Abubakar Arawa and Mallam Inna areas.
They were reported to be members of the Abu Musab al-Barnawi faction of the Boko Haram that operates in Chad
and mostly northern parts of Borno State but came to Gombe State for a terror assignment.
The suspects were arrested with improvised explosive devices.
During the operation, Umar reportedly attempted to escape and was shot on the leg.
He was apprehended and is receiving medical treatment.
“The suspects are in custody undergoing preliminary investigation,” Brig. Gen. Sani Kukasheka Usman, Director Army
Public Relations, said.
