Ten selected basic and Junior high schools in the Central Region have received sports gears from Nestle MILO Ghana Limited in fulfillment of a promise to support sports in basic schools in the country.
The project, which is expected to donate 4,000 pairs of sports shoes to school children in deprived communities this year, donated 1,000 sports shoes to school children in the Central Region.
It would be recalled that the 28th Accra Milo Marathon held on 21st September 2015 was expanded to include a 5km fun run to encourage the general public to also enjoy the positive experiences of physical activity while in the process providing shoes to less privileged children in the country to help them take their first step towards being champions in sports and in life.

National Physical Education Coordinator of the Ghana Education Service, Emmanuel Domenya expressed his gratitude to the Nestle team for helping the Ghana Education Service in organize, its numerous sports events across the country.
He emphasized that the sports shoes are meant for the schools children and not for the teachers. He said this while expressing his dissatisfaction about such an incident last year during the distribution of sports boots
