Spending on ones airfares to Australia is definitely money well spent. Be it the beaches of Cairns, the buildings of Sydney, or for that matter, any of the wonders of Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, and other charming destinations, Australia holidays are intoxicatingly delightful. However, before planning your holidays to Australia, get a little insight into some of the visa requirements for the destination.
There are different categories of visas to choose from if you are planning to book flights to Australia. These include Electronic Visitor Visas, Student Visas, Working Holiday Visas, and Maritime Crew Visas.
There are of two types of electronic visitor visas, namely eVisitor visas and the Electronic Travel Authority. The eVisitor visa can be directly procured from the Department of Immigration Citizenship without payment of a service fee or visa application charge. For obtaining an Electronic Travel Authority, one has to get in touch with any of the Australian visa offices situated outside Australia, airlines, and travel agents. Such visas have no application charge but there is a service fee of A$20.
Detailed information on the different visa categories is available with the Australian High Commission in London and the Department of Immigration Citizenship.
Second Year Working Holiday Visas
Many travellers catching flights to Australia go on working holiday visas and like the destination so much that they seek a second year working holiday visa. Travellers can apply for second year working holiday visas provided they put in three months of work in some rural region while on their first years working holidays. One should not attempt to buy fake proof of such work experience. In the past, travellers who got caught faced visa cancellation as well as disqualification from entering Australia for a period of three years. Needless to say, such a scenario spoils the entire labour of tediously searching for and saving on booking cheap flights to Australia.
Medical Requirements for Visa Procurement
Travellers applying for visas to Australia may be required to undergo a health examination. This is all the more true for travellers of 75 years of age or more. Visa applicants of this age group have to undergo a medical examination or an Aged Visitors Health Check at their own expense. The Government of Australia nominates a Panel doctor for this purpose. So, besides saving for buying tickets for one of the cheap flights to Australia, it is advisable to make provisions for extra time and money for this purpose.
