World Of Warcraft
I played World of Warcraft for almost two years. And, I was obviously a retribution Paladin. During those years we had the Honor System, not the token system that exists today. Now I am sure I lost every one of the Horde players and portail design Paladin haters right there. During those years we had the Honor System, not the token system that exists today.
The honor system allowed players to compete for the top ranking of Grand Marshal or High Warlord. No longer could you compete to be a high rank, you could simply play as hard so when long as you could and obtain the rare armor, like everyone else. The token system simply allowed everyone to have whatever they wanted if they worked hard enough.
It took away the prestige of the game, it rewarded the ordinary and penalized the super elite class of pvpers which had developed through the honor days. This system allowed players to work as hard while they could to obtain the things they desired. This was the reason that I quit WoW, as it took away the only real presitge offered inside the game and opened up to everyone.
I believe that the honor system to become superior for the token system in everyway. They weren't raiders, they were pvpers. These ranks installed a a feeling of loyalty and admiration for your player. The token system simply portail design allowed everyone to have what they wanted if they worked hard enough.
