I played World of Warcraft for nearly two years. During those years we had the Honor System, not the token system that exists today. During, this period of my entire life I ran a small guild, but would be a notable PVPer in my server Boulderfist. Now I am sure I lost every one of the Horde players and Paladin haters right there. During those years we had the Honor System, not the token system that exists today.
The honor system allowed players to compete for your top ranking of Grand Marshal or High Warlord. The old honor system, of classic WoW were gone. I could relate for them and admire them. The token system simply allowed everyone to obtain the things they wanted if they worked hard enough.
It took away the prestige of the game, it rewarded the ordinary and penalized the super elite class of pvpers that had developed during the honor days. World PVP was discouraged. This was the reason why that I http://www.portail-design.fr/ quit WoW, since it took away the sole presitge offered inside the game and opened up to everyone.
I believe that the honor system to be superior for the token system in everyway. Sure, the cons to the honor system were that not everybody could get the rare armor, not everybody could play 15 hours per day to get enough kills and honor points to level up after the week. The token system took away the honor and admiration for your best pvpers. World PVP was discouraged. But, those that did at all like me were rewarded hamsomly.
It took away the prestige of the game, it rewarded the ordinary and penalized the super elite class of pvpers which in fact had developed during the honor days. . This was the reason that I quit WoW, because it took away the only presitge offered in the game and opened it up to everyone.
