ZAMBIA TO PLAY GHANA
Chipolopolo will meet Ghana in the COSAFA Plate contest after the Indian Ocean Islanders shocked the Black Stars of Ghana in the third quarter final of the 2015 COSAFA Championships played at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace this evening.
Madagascar where the first to score in the first half but Ghana equalised just before going for break.
On resumption Madagascar commanded the match and managed to score the winner in added time.
And Chipolopolo have put behind their ejection from this year’s COSAFA tournament as they trained this afternoon at Mogwase stadium. Zesco United midfielder, Just Zulu did not train owing to the injury he suffered in yesterday’s match against Namibia. Zulu has an ankle injury
Zambia was yesterday ejected from this years Championships by Namibia via a 4-5 penalty score line. Chipolopolo had settled for a goalless draw in regular time.
Captain of the day, Kennedy Mweene, Kondwani Mtonga,Jimmy Njobvu and Aaron Katebe converted their spot kicks while Emmanuel Mbola shot his over the bar.
Coach Honour Janza said it was disappointing to lose such a match but was quick to add that the game had given him a chance to know which players he would use and not use for the forth coming CHAN and Africa cup qualifiers.
Chipolopolo will in the third week of June this year meet Namibia in Namibia for the first leg of the Rwanda 2016 CHAN qualifiers. A week earlier Zambia will be at home for the first round of the 2017 Afcon qualifiers against Guinea Bissau.
