Intel asks Japan to personify its computers, blissfully unaware of the inevitable
There are a lot of aspects of marketing and product releases in Japan that seem especially foreign to the rest of us. For example, products tend to be more personified in Japan, sometimes to the point of being turned into anime characters. That’s why Intel is sponsoring a personification contest to determine which characters best represent various products powered by Intel. This is definitely a Rule 34 situation waiting to happen.
Many of these products are not available in the US, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the fun. Several of the character versions of these products are bizarre to the point of being hilarious. Case in point, The Asus Transbook T300 Chi character (above). It does appear that she has a Windows 8 start screen on her boobs. That’s very unusual.
