Flow meters in everyday life

There are lots of things that we use everyday that are in common use and work well but we have no idea of the engineering details and devices which make up the components of these things.

Take for example your automobile - You know that you have to keep air in the tires, water in the radiator and gasoline in the tank, but what makes it work? That powerful engine that takes you down the road day after day is a marvel of modern engineering which burns gasoline to create a rotational force to turn the wheels and it contains literally hundreds of components in order to work properly.

Today lets take a look at the device known as the mass air flow meter which electronically measures the amount of air flowing through the engine in order to mix it with just the right amount of gasoline to create maximum power combined with fuel economy.
