Guys, be sincere: Would you wish you were larger? Almost definitely, the answer is yes.

"I believe there isn't a guy on the planet who hasn't wished his penis had been an inch or two longer," states Michael O'Leary, MD, professor of urologic surgical procedure at Harvard Healthcare School and a urologist at Brigham and Women's Clinic in Boston.

However, following much more than a century of usually doubtful and sometimes lunatic penis enlargement makes an attempt, there's still not a lot you can do. Certain, you will find lots and plenty of intended options available -- penis tablets, lotions, brutal stretching exercises, horrific-looking gadgets, and penis surgical procedure. Almost none of it works. The couple of approaches that may work often have modest advantages and severe side results. How serious? In a few instances, erectile dysfunction-serious.

"Trust me, if I understood of a way to safely and effectively improve penis dimension, I'd be a billionaire," O'Leary tells WebMD. "But I don't. Nobody does."

Still, typical feeling doesn't quit size-obsessed men from attempting very sketchy treatments on a vital component in their anatomy -- and jeopardizing a great deal in the process.

How Little Is a Small penis?
Think you're smaller than typical? You are probably not.

The standard erect penis is usually five to 6 inches lengthy with a circumference of four to 5 inches. There's more variation within the size of flaccid penises.

Some guys are truly smaller sized than that. In uncommon instances, genetics and hormone problems cause a situation known as micropenis -- an erect penis of under three inches. Occasionally Peyronie's disease or prostate most cancers surgical procedure can reduce a guy's dimension.

But studies show that most of the guys seeking penis enlargement are average-sized. They just believe they're below typical.

Why? Part of it is perspective. It is very difficult to gauge the dimensions of one's own penis -- searching down, you've received a nasty angle.

Psychology plays a role, too. Some average-sized guys turn out to be obsessive about the idea that they are too little. There's even a psychiatric diagnosis: penile dysmorphic condition. It's similar to the perceptual distortion of anorexics who think they are body fat no matter how skinny they get.

Based on one research, the majority of males who get penis enlargement surgical procedure have this situation. They're also the minimum satisfied using the results.
