Thermogravimetric analysis TGA data for Cd II

An inspection of the data represented in this table shows that the complexes undergo thermal degradation through three main steps: (i) dehydration step: starting at about 63 °C for physically adsorbed water and from about 110 °C to 270 °C for coordinate water. (ii) Decomposition step: starting at about 250 °C (depending on the nature of each complex) where the decomposition of the organic part in the complex takes place. The weight loss in this step may be due to the evolution of gases such as CO2, SO2, H2S, N2, HCl or NO2 resulting from the degradation of the organic moiety.
