Singapore Residential Joins Green Wave

Singapore has been a catalyst in eco-friendly establishments and infrastructure recognized not only in Asia but across the world. With 80% of its buildings integrating a proliferation of energy efficient systems and processes which helps in innovative urban planning, the island-city is foretelling a brighter future ahead. Residential buildings, condominiums and apartments are also adapting to this nation’s trend.

Carbon Footprint is one of the most vulnerable concerns of Singapore. With the limited natural reserve and almost isolated demographic profile, the country has set means to preserve what they have. Albeit lacking on the natural side of things, Singaporeans invest their own efforts and discipline as well as their ideas to focus on improving what they have.

Incentive schemes were introduced to encourage private sector developers and building owners to have their new and existing projects adhere to the green wave operation. Moreover, Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Singapore also required establishments to bear Green Mark certification before operating.

Residential buildings are not exempted of the decree. Since 2012, residential establishments, condominiums and apartments are also bearing green marks.

The country’s Housing and Development Board has a lot of unveiled designs on the construction of eco-friendly residential using solar panels, roof gardens and gray water recycling to mention a few. Waste management is also considered a serious issue. Today, Singapore is known to be one of the cleanest and most improved countries to develop proper waste disposal.

Expatriates, executives and even locals are assured that the country is clean and safe, even when they are living in the heart of the city where pollution can be a given factor. The conundrum in Singapore may include a lot of arbitrated efforts for urban planning but at least, these mediated confusions are with a cause.

The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominiums and Residences, professional company which provides luxury homes for expatriates, admits that one of the reasons their clients choose to live in the city is because of the benefits the green wave has caused. Compared to their market in Jakarta, Indonesia where traffic is number one undermining factor or in Hong Kong where pollution can be thick smog, Singapore has proved to be a more cultured city aside from its expanding growth. If there are complaints on the country’s lifestyle, it only includes petty issues.

Analysts, builders and developers across the globe are also agreeing to the fact that Singapore’s experiences have shaped the country’s reserve for energy sufficient projects and ideals. According to reviews, Singapore has inspired other countries and has been looked up as role model to bold features of new infrastructure.
