Methylene blue (MB), which is a typical organic pollutants commonly used in the textile industry, was selected a representative dye to test the adsorption performance of the erythrocyte-like CaMoO4, 50 mg of the as-prepared sample was dispersed in 100.0 mL 10−5 mol L−1 MB solution under magnetic stirring for 1 h in dark. The residual concentration of MB in the solution was measured by UV–vis spectrophotometer. The removal rate of MB reached about 72%, and the main reason was probably that CaMoO4 with unique hierarchical structure could provide more active sites. To investigate the stability of the as-prepared erythrocyte-like CaMoO4, recycling experiments were conducted.
