For resident coho salmon that aggressively interacted with the intruder
PCA and Spearman rank correlations were performed using JMP 10 (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, U.S.A.; www.jmp.com).
All research protocols were approved by UBC's Committee on Animal Care (number A11 0215) and met the Canadian Council on Animal Care guidelines. Egg CAY10650 treatment was not found to have adverse effects on offspring hatching. Survival to hatch (Wilcoxon signed-ranks test: Z = 1.59, N = 29, P = 0.11) and emergence (Z = 1.24, N = 29, P = 0.21) did not vary between cortisol-treated and untreated offspring.
