Anyone who has used a portable oxygen concentrator...?
there are several companies now dealing in these, and some are even able to bill insurance (if not already using a regular concentrator). Most companies seem to be using the Inogen system. We also offer a system called Liquid Oxygen, which gives the patient a "fill vessel" at home and a portable "helios machine" that they carry. It is very light weight, and can last up to 10 hours on a fill @ 2 LPM. It comes with a waist band that allows the patient to wear the portable unit on their waist/back for convenience.
Also, it should NOT be a problem to get tanks. We call our patients every monday and friday to see if they need tanks or supplies. It is the companies responsibility to make sure that ALL oxygen patients have the supplies they need, 24 hours a day.
