RainCommander is an app that controls your sprinkler system - Atlanta Gadgets

A few weeks ago I wrote about an app that turns your garage into a "smart garage."

Now an app has hit the market that will change the way we water our lawns and control our sprinkler systems.

It's true. Our beautiful lawns are like a little child. They need to be put on a schedule, but sometimes that schedule needs to be altered.

RainCommander does just that.

The RainCommander RC1200 model is a sprinkler controller enabled by WiFI that lets a homeowner, landlord, or business owner control their sprinkler system from a smartphone, tablet or mobile device.

Today people can control lights, security cameras and even door locks from their smartphone, but many are unable to fully control their sprinkler system remotely, states Deb Shupe, co-founder of RainCommander. RainCommander is one of the first of its kind on the market to provide easy 12-zone sprinkler control.

RainCommander not only can make your life simpler, but italso save you money. Water usage bill are up all over the country and now you can better control your water usage when it comes to your sprinklers.

The RainCommander system gives the user the ability to bypass watering cycles if not needed because of rain, cooler weather, or maybe a party or event you are having on the lawn. Some estimated say bypassing two water cycles, the average homeowner can conserve up to 34,000 gallons of water per year.

That's big saving and good for the environment.

For $159 you get a RainCommander controller and app on Kickstarter at http://kck.st/1jWr7Ja.
