This hotel really caters to its guests. The business center is open 24 hours per day. Restaurants include the Dining Room, a Mobil 5-star restaurant serving modern French cuisine with Japanese accents; Lobby Lounge for breakfast, lunch and light snacks; and the Lobby Bar serving imaginative cocktails and extensive wine selection. Room service is available 24 hours per day. This hotel has served dignataries and is well equipped to handle a large entourage and security detail.

Complimentary Mercedes Limo service is available to all guests for local jaunts, arranged in advance with the doorman. You can take the Cable Car downtown for shopping or business meetings, located outside the hotel on California Street.

This majestic hotel has quite a history. The building was originally built in 1909 for Metropolitan Life. Later it was converted into office space for CP National, a private utility company and Cogswell College. Before it was converted into a hotel it was a five-building complex. The masterful architects, Whister Patri, now Patri Merker Architects were able to seamlessly integrate the separate buildings into one dramatic hotel that looks like it has always been there. The original building entry was several floors above so the dramatic lobby and bar were incorporated as the entry point at street level.

Guest amenities include a fitness center, Spa and indoor pool - the Spa De Vie is divine. They offer a variety of massage, facials, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. The hotels popular Club Level, which has been named the #1 hotel Club Level in the U.S. by Andrew Harpers Hideaway Report, introduced an extensive array of new interior design features, along with the addition of a serviced coffee bar and continuous daily food and beverage presentations accessible only to guests of the Lounge. Guests of The Club Level, located on the top two floors of the hotel, now receive complimentary garment-pressing services, complimentary high-speed in-room Internet service and complimentary access to a separate, recently-opened Club Level Business Lounge offering computers, printers and comfortable work spaces.

The Lobby Lounge serves Afternoon Tea which is legendary and you can choose to begin the tea with a glass or bottle of champagne to add to the celebration. The Lobby Lounge and Bar is always a nice place for a glass of champagne or cocktail.
