Spieth motivated by losing to Day in recent rounds

ATLANTA No one has had a better view of Jason Days run the last few weeks than Jordan Spieth.

Spieth has been paired with Day 10 times since the U.S. Open, a run that has included four victories for the Australian.

Spieth is 2-7-1 against Day over those last 10 head-to-head meetings, including Rounds 1 and 2 last week at the BMW Championship when Day was a combined 18 under par compared to Spieths 11 under effort.

I mean he destroyed my score in those rounds, Spieth said on Wednesday at the Tour Championship.

The duo will be reunited on Thursday at East Lake when they set out for the first round together at 2 p.m. ET. Its a sequel that Spieth has embraced.

It is very motivating, because my personality I dont like getting beat in anything and Im very stubborn, Spieth said. When its not fun it motivates me.
