Saints WR DWI: New Orleans Saints receiver Joe Morgan arrested for DWI
A Saints WR DWI is not what the team needed. New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Morgan was arrested over the weekend on a charge of driving while intoxicated; bringing another black eye to the franchise. According to a report from late Wednesday (May 29), Louisiana State Police Trooper Melissa Matey said that Morgan was arrested Saturday in Jefferson Parish on a charge of DWI and driving with no license.

Morgan was already released after posting bond, but this story is not one that is quickly going to go away. As the Saints try hard to get past the controversy that surrounded the franchise over the past two seasons, it looked like this upcoming season would allow quarterback Drew Brees to escape that cloud. Instead, one of his weapons on offense has been charged with a DWI.
This Saints WR DWI came about when a trooper responded to a disabled vehicle. It was there that Morgan was found asleep behind the wheel of the car and upon getting out of the car, he was asked to submit to a test. Morgan registered a 0.218 percent as his blood alcohol content, far over the legal limit of 0.08.
Now the New Orleans Saints front office will have to determine if this garners a suspension for Joe Morgan or whether the team will simply decide to cut ties with him.
