Granlibakken Resort is a grand family destination

Granlibakken Resort on the north shore of Lake Tahoe offers families an adventure customizable to your unique group. Nestled into the forest in a 74 acre valley, it presents the best of both worlds-a rustic retreat with modern accommodations and unlimited activities. While you sit by a cozy fire in your room, you just may see a bear or a coyote exploring the alpine forest right outside your door.

Young families visiting Granlibakken will be especially appreciative of the laundry room and the availability of rooms with full kitchens. Before heading out for a day of activities, guests enjoy a delicious breakfast buffet filled with a wide variety of entrees, cheese blintzes, fruits, meats and traditional breakfast staples that is included with their stay.

There are many activities to choose from at the resort. The sledding hill at Granlibakken is a local family favorite during the winter, along with their ski runs. If you decide to ski at a different resort, there is a free ski shuttle that will conveniently pick you up at the front of the lodge. The front desk offers dvd's if you want to stay in and relax, and current activity guides to help you to explore the nearby areas if you want to get out. For a fun day with children any time of the year, visit the North Tahoe Arts Center on one of their many days of kids' art programming. Back at Granlibakken, a day spa, hiking trails, bike rentals, tennis courts, heated outdoor pool and spa are open year round and are all just steps away from your room.

Also open year round (and not to be missed) is the Treetop Adventure Park-a ropes course with zip lines, ladders and bridges constructed amongst the beautiful forest on the property. A visit to the Treetop Adventure Park starts with an introduction to your harness and a fitting for safety gear. There are courses for all levels of adventurers starting at age 5. The courses are well designed with safety in mind. This ropes course is an incredible family bonding experience as you help each other maneuver through and overcome challenges together.

After a day of discovery the day spa is a relaxing treat. The day spa is located in a lodge at the base of the ski and sledding hills where you can unwind with a variety of treatments including massage, facials, and reflexology. End the perfect day with the perfect dinner at the Cedar House Pub, a cozy A-framed dining room with a large fireplace. The Cedar House Pub is family-friendly with live music and deliciously elevated comfort food. Granlibakken Resort is truly a special place for family experiences.
