You may not always agree with your teammates but everyone wants to win and you must support each other. You never know what they might have to add!
When you are able to read the opposing team's formation, you may be able to make a quick defensive play. Three plays and out should be the goal of the defense. You may be able to figure out what play is about to happen. If the receiver lines up very wide, there is a good chance the play is a pass. Of course, this could be a decoy, but it leaves the offense with fewer blockers inside.
Don't overuse any tricks in your playbook. You might think it's a good idea to keep doing something that works, but it can make it simpler for the opposing team to anticipate your future moves.
A great way to improve your game is to create some type of dance as a component of your training. Yes, football is a rough sport and dance is not that physically agressive, but dance does work balance and footwork. Smooth footwork will pay great dividends during games.
If you only play half well, you are only getting half of any reward. You and whole team will be very disappointed if the game is lost because you did not make your best effort. Make sure you keep that passion burning so you can win.
Your quickness and speed is essential if you play receiver. To help increase your speed set up a well defined running area. You can do this by placing two traffic cones approximately ten yards apart. Sprint as quickly as you are able from the first cone to the second and record your time. Always try to go faster than your best time. This kind of sprinting can help you boost your takeoff speed.
Improve flexibility in your hips by putting five cones about 5 yards from each other in a line. Begin by starting at one cone, then while running fast, cross between each of the cones. Lean into your desired direction, but keep your head upward and look down the field.
Being aware of the time clock is very important when trying to succeed in a football game. Once the game is winding down, if you are on offense but are trailing, do not let the clock run down.
You should continually work on increasing your endurance. If your stamina holds up to the point where you never get tired, your team will greatly benefit. If you do become breathless, breathe slower and deeper until you are back to normal again.
When applying for a college football team, be sure to include a video of your games. Choose clips which show how versatile and fast you are. Incorporate some of everything as a means to demonstrate your broad range of capabilities.
Do exercises that increase your agility. You can do this by jumping rope, jumping over objects and running through tires. This keeps you flexible, agile and ready to play hard. Incorporate your agility exercises into your workouts and football practices, as well.
Football is enjoyed a lot more by those who have an individual willing to coach them more about the sport.
