For the sake of the mommy-to-be and the wee one, there are a few things you should keep in mind when planning the menu. The mommy and baby are fragile now and there’s a few things that mommy can’t eat until after the birth.
Don’t serve sushi. The mommy can’t eat raw fish just yet as it’s dangerous to the baby. Also, try to stay away from shark, swordfish, king mackerel, tile fish and tuna as they have high mercury levels.
No uncooked meats and uncooked eggs.
Be sure to check with the mom-to-be to see if she has any food allergies. She may be more sensitive to them during pregnancy.
Some pregnant women have food aversions throughout the pregnancy. Ask her if there is any food that she doesn’t want served.
